Zak Whitbread linked with Leicester move

Former Norwich City defender Zak Whitbread is the latest footballer to be linked with a move to Leicester City.

Released by the Canaries at the end of last season, American-born Whitbread made 44 appearances for Norwich having joined them from Millwall in 2010. As a loanee at the New Den from Liverpool before signing with the Lions on a permanent basis, the 28-year-old made over 100 appearances for Millwall over five years with the club. He made 21 Premier League appearances for Liverpool between 2003-2006.

It has been suggested that Whitbread was with the Foxes' executives at the club's Belvoir Drive training ground during today's open training session, though this is unconfirmed by the club. The BBC's Ian Stringer believes that a deal is close to completion. Stringer confirmed via Twitter that Whitbread has completed a medical and only personal terms are yet to be agreed.
